Nortons at auction, Apr 9 2021 SInce we got on to the topic of Commandos, yesterday, here's a 1968 Fastback (lot 76) coming up for auction at Shannons. It was originally sold in the USA via importer Berliners and has since crossed the Pacific. The local history over the last couple of decades seems well recorded and is worth a look here. It's carrying an estimate of Au$20-24,000 (US$15-21,000, GB£11-16,000). See our Norton Commando profile. There are three more Nortons on offer, including a circa 1950 ES2 set up for the track (lot 73 above) estimated at Au$7-10,000 (US$5-8000, GB£4-6000). Then there's a 1953 road ES2 (lot 75 above) pitched at Au$10-12,000 (US$8-9000, GB£6-7000). The final Norton is a 1954 Manx 500 (lot 81 above) of course carrying the highest estimate at Au$50-60,000 (US$38-46,000, GB£28-33,000). The auction begins on April 13.
