Japanese classics at auction, updated Jan 28 Graysonline had a motley if interesting group of Japanese classics at auction. First up is the 1967 Yamaha YR1 350 above, looking fairly complete if a little tired. It reached reserve at Au$2600 (US$2000, GB£1500) but was withdrawn from the sale. See our YR1 profile, plus our YD1 & YDS-1 profile. Next is a Yamaha DT-1, looking to be in unusually good shape. It reached Au$6600 (US$5100, GB£3700) – reserve not met. See the Motorcycle Online profile. A Honda CL450 has popped up, not long after we profiled the model. It reached Au$3200 (US$2500, GB£1800) – reserve not met. Condition appeared okay – complete but in need of a bit of attention. A very tidy-looking Honda CB750-Four was on offer. The listing said it was a January 1972 model, which means K2, though it appeared to have a K1 fuel tank with the tap on the right-hand side. See our history on them with links to other resources. Bidding reached Au$16,400 (US$12,500, GB£9100) – reserve not met;. Last on our list is an example of the mighty Honda CBX1000 straight six. It's a 1978 model, so first-gen, and appeared to be in tidy condition. It sold for Au$20,700 (US$16,000, GB£11,600). See the model profile at Motorcycle Specs.
